Espresso Nut Sundae Wins!

Ashley's Yogurt Ice Cream Shoppe on Maui, Hawaii, went to the 8th Annual Taste of Lahaina on the island of Maui, and entered into the food contest. The 8th Annual Taste of Lahaina was held on September 12 & 13, 1999. We ended up being awarded First Place for Desserts, and won another award for Best of Show. Best of Show is awarded to the food item that scores the most points from amoung all the food items submitted in the contest. In the competition, there were more than 40 hotels and restaurents represented with some of the best chefs on Maui, creating some of the best looking and tasting foods on the island. My Espresso Sundae won the two awards. A panel of 18 judges awarded this wonderful taste to be the best that was presented from amoung all the food items presented that day. The sundae was made with Roselani Gourmet Macadamia Nut Icecream, Espresso Sauce created by Ashley's, whipped cream, cocoa powder, chocolate chips and coffee beans.
